Visa Procedures for users
of BL01, BL02, BL11, BL15, BL17, BL18, and BL22 –

CROSS provides support for users traveling to Japan to conduct experiments on beamlines BL01, BL02, BL11, BL15, BL17, BL18, and BL22 in obtaining a visa.

In addition to visa procedures, users must complete the required steps for conducting experiments at J-PARC at least two weeks prior to their visit. Please see “Procedures Before You Arrive” section on Meet@MLF for more information.

Steps to Obtain Visa for Travel to Japan

STEP1: Cordinate Your Experimental Schedule

Please cordinate with your beamline staff to schedule your experiment and determine the dates of your visit to Japan.

STEP2: Send the Required Information to CROSS

Please download the appropriate file below, fill it out and send it to CROSS.

These documents must be submitted by all users who require a visa. If there are multiple applicants, you may send their documents together in a single email.

STEP3: CROSS will prepare and send the necessary documents to you

Based on the information you provid, CROSS will prepare the following documents and them to you.

The specific documents required may vary depending on your nationality. For more information, please refer to the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the website of the Japanese embassy or consulate in your country.

STEP4: Apply for a Visa at the relevant Japanese embassy or consulate

Please apply for your visa at the appropriate Japanese embassy or consulate using both the documents you have prepared and those provided by CROSS.
