The Neutron Science and Technology Center, operated by the Comprehensive Research Organization for Science and Society (CROSS), promotes the use of seven public beamlines located within the Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF) at J-PARC.
Approximately half of the staff at the Neutron Science and Technology Center are researchers who, in addition to supporting users, also engage in R&D to promote utilization. This approach is essential because the registered support institution must not only advance measurement techniques and pioneer new applications, but also possess deep expertise to provide effective user support.
