In their respective roles as Registered Institution for J-PARC and SPring-8, CROSS-Tokai and JASRI will co-host the 1^st CROSS-JASRI Workshop on Monday the 16^th of January, 2012.

The research theme of the first joint workshop in this series is the application of pulsed neutrons and synchrotron radiation to interface analysis and, in particular, the study of solar batteries: a potentially vital technology in the future energy mix of Japan and other countries.

The workshop aims to bring together facility staff, users and experts in the field to explore ways in which these two world-class research facilities (J-PARC and SPring-8) may contribute to and collaborate in meeting the research challenges currently being faced in solar battery R&D.
