These laboratories are available for sample preparation, adjustment, characterization, and processing necessary for experiments.
This facility is used for developing high-pressure techniques and machining ceramics required for such experiments.
This lounge offers a relaxed space for informal discussions and information exchange over a cup of coffee.
The User Data Analysis Room is equipped with ten computers, providing users with a space to analyze experimental data and perform related tasks.
From April 2026, usage fees will be charged for MPMS and PPMS used by external users of MLF (i.e., users not affiliated with CROSS, JAEA, and KEK).
The fee is set at JPY 500 per hour (tax included) and will be charged on an hourly basis.
Reservations must be made in hourly units, and the reserved time will be treated as the occupation period.
Charges will be applied based on the occupation period, regardless of whether the equipment is actually used during that time.
However, no charges will be applied for the occupation period if the equipment becomes unavailable due to equipment failure or other issues.

User Experiment Preparation Lab I (Room B401, IQBRC) is equipped with a variety of tools and machines for the processing and machining of solid-state samples.

User Experiment Preparation Lab II (Room B402, IQBRC) is equipped with a variety of facilities and instruments for the preparation and characterization of crystalline and other solid-state samples.

Gases: Helium, Argon, Nitrogen, Oxygen
User Experiment Preparation Lab III (Room B403, IQBRC) is equipped as a wet chemistry laboratory for the synthesis, processing and characterization of liquid materials and other types of soft matter.
Reagents: Ethanol, Acetone, Hydrochloric Acid, Nitric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Others
Gases: Helium, Argon, Nitrogen, Oxygen
This area is dedicated to the development of high-pressure techniques and machining of ceramics required for such experiments. It consists of two main areas: a development work space and a machine shop.
The development workspace is used for preparing high-pressure experiments and conducting offline pressure generation tests.
The machine shop is equipped for machining ceramics used in high-pressure experiments at J-PARC.
To use this area, users must submit an application form and complete the required safety training in advance. For inquiries regarding the application process or safety training, please contact a high-pressure experiment preparation area manager.

Located adjacent the User Data Analysis Room, the User Lounge offers a comfortable and welcoming space where users can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee (Espresso machine available!) or other drink of choice during their time at J-PARC.
The lounge is also equipped with a data projector for meetings and presentations.
If you wish to use the lounge facilities, please contact your beamline scientist in advance.

The User Data Analysis Room (UDAR) is equipped with fully networked computers and specialized software, allowing users to visualize and analyze their experimental data while working at the MLF.
Users may also connect their own devices to the local network via LAN ports available in the UDAR.
