J-PARC Workshop 2024, Deuterium Science Entering an Advanced Phase
10/18 (Fri) 09:00 - 18:00
Objective of the meeting
Deuterium-labeled compounds are widely used in isotope-sensitive analytical methods such as neutron scattering and NMR, and to enhance the functionality of pharmaceuticals, liquid crystal materials, organic ELs, and optical fibers. In neutron scattering studies, deuterium labeling is an important technique for controlling the scattering contrast and/or reduce the neutron incoherent scattering background of hydrogen. In this workshop, we will present and discuss cutting-edge and pioneering research results using deuterium-labeled functional structural materials, and also focus on the growth strategy of deuterium labeling technology for neutron science research at J-PARC Center. The goal is to stimulate more and more deuterium-related research at various institutes and to develop neutron science research led by deuterium-labeled molecules from around the world.
